about callan swim school

For the last 6 decades, 3 generations of the Callan family have been teaching San Diegans to swim. It is this experience that has separated Callan Swim School from all the other learn-to-swim programs that have come after us. The Callan Swim School program is structured to teach proper swimming skills utilizing a relaxed efficient upper body. This technique is taught due to the fact that the majority of your ability to swim well is based on your stroke not your kicks.

Our step-by-step method breaks down the complexity of learning to swim so that our students never become frustrated or fearful. These small steps make each individual swimming skill easy and fun to learn. Our technique and experience makes Callan Swim School the most equipped and experienced learn to swim program in North County. Come see why generations of families have trusted the Callans to teach their children.

A Challenging and Rewarding Role A Challenging and Rewarding Role

Prior to applying to be a swim instructor at Callan Swim School our instructors must have the following qualifications:

Competitive Swimming Background | CPR Certification | SI Certification | Full-Time Summer Availability | Part or Full-Time School Year Availability
Enjoy Children | Reliability

All Callan Swim School instructors are intensively and extensively trained in the technique we use. Unlike the majority of other swim schools, all instructors must
teach the same methodology and they are not assigned their own classes until they are extremely qualified to do so. This training process may take several
hundred hours and can continue thereafter.
