Babies Are Ready to Swim!
SWIM LESSONS FOR INFANTS NOT ONLY ENHANCE THEIR COORDINATION, They STRENGTHEN THE BOND YOU CREATE WITH YOUR CHILD.
While babies are ready to swim as soon as they are born, (since they’ve been in amniotic fluid for 9 months) at Callan Swim School we begin teaching infants to swim from the age of 3 months. The warm 93°, crystal clear water provides incredible support and buoyancy, even for babies who can’t sit or stand yet. Children can become comfortable in the water long before they can walk or even sit up.
The majority of swim students who began at a very young age master the water and are able to navigate pools on their own before they turn two. We’ve also found that children who began their swim lessons early benefited from advanced development, as they performed better academically and athletically due to the increased oxygen and lung capacity. An oxygen rich brain creates a stronger individual, both mentally and physically. The weightless environment of the water is a great place for babies to exercise their young growing muscles. Swim lessons not only enhance infants coordination, the strengthen the bond you create with your child.
